About Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra
Adi Kailash, also known as Chhota Kailash or Baba Kailash, is one of the most sacred and stunning pilgrimage sites in the Indian Himalayas. Located in the Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand, near the Indo-Tibetan Border, Adi Kailash is revered as the earthly abode of Lord Shiva, similar to Mount Kailash in Tibet.
Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, dense forests and pristine lakes, the Adi Kailash region offers a spiritually enriching experience combined with raw natural beauty. At an altitude of 5,945 Mtrs (19,505 Ft), this holy peak is the replica of Mount Kailash.
Trekkers and pilgrims can also witness the peaceful Parvati Sarovar / Gauri Kund near the base of the mountain, known for its crystal-clear water and tranquil surroundings. The lake is dedicated to Goddess Parvati. The whole region is part of the ancient Kailash Mansarovar route.
Om Parvat is a sacred and awe-inspiring mountain located in the Darchula District of Uttarakhand, near the Indo-Nepal-Tibet border. What makes it truly unique is the natural formation of the sacred 'OM' (เฅ) symbol on its snow-covered surface โ a phenomenon that draws thousands of pilgrims, trekkers and spiritual seekers every year.
Standing at an elevation of around 6,191 Meters (20,300 Ft), this mystical mountain holds deep spiritual meaning for Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. The OM is formed by natural deposition of snow and appears brightest when the snow melts slightly. The journey to Om Parvat is part of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and is often combined with visits to Adi Kailash.
